Our new car :)
As most of you probably know, we needed a new car for a long time. Our faithful 1992 Pontiac LeMans was a great car and we both loved it, but we kept investing money into fixing different things and every time we thought we were done fixing the car, something new broke down. The major problem the car had in the past couple months was that it was leaking coolant. We were also getting coolant in our oil and that was not good...
We were praying for a new car for a long time and other people were as well. On April 6, we were able to go to a car auction with a Christian guy who was willing to help us find a car. And even though we did not find a car at the auction, God provided for us in a different way. Every day God surprises us with something new!!!
We were looking for some kind of a cheaper car that would last us for a year or two, but instead God prepared for us a wonderful 2000 Ford Taurus!
There was another car dealer at the auction and when he talked to the guy we came with, he asked about who we were. When he learned Tomasz was in seminary, we were preparing for a year of internship and after that we were hoping to go work in the Ukraine, he said he would like to help us get a car. First he said he would pay $200 on any car we'd get at the auction. But then when we did not find anything, he said he had a Ford Taurus that he could sell to us. He said he was actually going to bring it to the car auction and sell it there that morning, but then he was too lazy to do it so he left the car at home. God saved the car for us! :)
We said we did not have enough money for such a car, but he said he wanted to give it to us for a price that was just a little higher than the amount we were ready to spend on a new car. (Even though he could probably sell it somewhere else for almost twice as much!!) We prayed about it and this seemed to be the answer. The only problem was that even with this HUGE discount, it was still a little more than we could afford and we also learned on that day that our taxes would probably be more than what we had expected.
We did not know what to do, because our "rule" is never to spend money that we do not have. But God took care of that as well! Someone gave us money for our wedding and specifically said the money was to be used for us to buy this new car! So that was an answer for us. We were able to pay for our car, pay our taxes and still be in the black... :) God is so good to us!
The same as many times in the past, now again God gave us something that was so much better than what we had even asked Him for!!! How typical of Him! :)
